Site Representatives

Meet and
Confer
The Board of Supervisors will formally adopt the
tentative agreements related to office closure and job sharing at their meeting
on August 12. The office closure
agreement will ensure employees receive compensation without a deduction from
their leave balances when the County administrator due to conditions requiring
work cessation sends employees home. Once
the Board of Supervisors gives final approval, we will
post the agreements on our web site and copies will be given to our site
representatives.
Membership
Cards
We have begun this project by distributing the
cards at some smaller work locations. Over the next several months, SYCEA staff
will be distributing the new SCEA Local #1-membership cards. We will inform our site representatives and
members at the work location where we plan to hold a meet and greet for
dispersing the cards. Thank you in
advance for your cooperation and support with this project. Additional information will be disseminated
with the membership card.
Pay For
Service with Distinction (PFSWD)
The SCEA board of Directors has appointed Terry
Barber to serve as the chairperson for the committee that will be meeting with
Larry Combs,
Disciplinary
Issues
Staff has been dealing with several disciplinary
matters on both sides of the river and a general investigation that has been
time consuming. Staff is also is handling an arbitration
hearing regarding the dismissal of one of Local #1’s members in the bay
area. This has and will continue to be
very time consuming. The first day of
hearing was held on 7/31 and two more days of hearing are scheduled for 8/26
& 8/27. This is a very involved matter and that is the
reason experienced staff was asked to handled the
appeal.
