The Executive Director, Gary Stucky, has 30 years of labor negotiations and public employee representation experience. If you are having problems in your workplace, he can give you answers regarding your County Rules and Regulations or file the appropriate paperwork to enforce your rights.
Board Meetings are conducted in the large meeting room once a month for both Sutter County Employees Association and Yuba County Employees Association. Other meetings such as Site Representative, Membership Meetings, Committee Meetings and even Negotiations during new contract years are held there as well. Employer/Employee relations can be confusing and legislation changes often. We have numerous resources at work for you behind the scenes...a lobbyist, attorneys and more! The Association represents the membership on issues of broad impact. The Association also offers a package of benefits to members. |

Sutter/Yuba County Employees Association, Local #1 is a member-run, independent Labor Association representing public employees in Sutter and Yuba Counties. S/YCEA also represents employees in the City of Colusa. S/YCEA Local #1 is a strong, pro-active Association that is on the leading edge of asserting and protecting member rights and benefits. The Union provides professional staff for negotiating contracts, contract enforcement via grievance procedures, classification issues, and individual representation in disciplinary appeals. S/YCEA Local #1 is affiliated with Public Employees Union, Local #1 which represents county, city, school and special district public employees in Alameda, Butte, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Sacramento, Sutter and Yuba counties. Policy of the Association is set by a Board of Directors which is elected directly by the membership. S/YCEA, Local #1 is structured to insure equitable representation on the elected Board of Directors.
